Born on March 20, 1963, in Southampton, New York, Annacone was a formidable presence on the ATP Tour. He achieved a career-high singles ranking of No. 12 in 1985 and secured three singles titles. His prowess in doubles was equally impressive, with 14 titles to his name, including a victory at the 1985 Australian Open alongside Christo van Rensburg.
Transitioning from player to coach, Annacone’s impact was profound. He began working with Pete Sampras in 1995, guiding him to nine of his 14 Grand Slam titles. Later, he coached Roger Federer from 2010 to 2013, helping Federer reclaim the world No. 1 ranking and secure his seventh Wimbledon title.
