Rabier began his professional journey with Stade Rennais in 1972, where he initially played as a central defender. Over time, he transitioned into a defensive midfielder, showcasing versatility and skill. During his tenure at Rennes, he made over 150 appearances, contributing significantly to the team’s successes.
In 1979, Rabier moved to Valenciennes, competing in France’s top division.
